Thol: God of thunder

Hello everybody!

This week was really good! we have completely planned for Christina's baptism on Tuesday. She is such a cool lady and we are so grateful for her faith and her diligence.

This week we got a bible referral for a nice Cambodian man named Thol. He asked for a bible so we delivered him one and we told him about The Book of Mormon and how through it we learn more about Christ and how we can find peace in our lives. He was happy for us to come by again to help him understand how that was possible. It was a really cool miracle.

Admittedly I don't have a lot of time left so this one is going to be a bit shorter. Sorry about that. I did take some cool picture that I will be sure to upload next week.  We had a mission tour with Elder Stanfill and his wife and it was awesome!  They helped us to answer some questions about how we can work more effectively and how we can study and be better at seeking revelation. It was very informative!

Anyways, I hope that you all have a wonderful week! thanks for your help and support!
I love you as always!

Hello Everyone!

Hello friends and family.

We had a pretty good week this last week!

It started with transfer calls. Elder Morris is gone officially. Luckily we are having a mission tour this week from Elder Stanfill of the seventy where I will see Elder Morris again. Before he left we went and visited some of the investigators that we had lost contact with for one reason or another. We were able to pick them up again and start teaching them. It was really cool.  Elder Harrison and I found some cool people!  We met this one man named George. He is Greek and his Brazilian friends that just moved in were interested too! it was awesome!

The weather here has been so awesome and the long winters have given me a greater appreciation for the spring and summer. I think many gospel parallels can be drawn but I will leave that to you.

I am so glad to be here and I love the opportunity that I have to be a missionary! I have been studying personal revelation lately, I was reading President Nelson's talk from last general conference. The things he recommended were: being exactly obedient, increased purity, and daily scripture study. The emphasis of these things will put us in a position to receive revelation for ourselves and our families.I hope that you all have a great rest of your week!
Love you!

Transfers

Hello everybody,

This week was good. It was pretty interesting but also exciting. We went on exchange with the zone leaders and the district leader. We did some service at a community farm. Saturdaywas pretty crazy though. We helped 2 people to move and painted Christina's room blue. My arms were sore for a while from doing corners. After the painting Christina had her baptismal interview and she passed! She will baptised on the 19th of this month! Super exciting!

This weekend was also transfers, elder Morris will be headed to Plymouth NH on Thursday. I will receive elder Harrison the same day. He sounds pretty cool! He speaks both Portuguese and Spanish!  It's too bad to see elder Morris go, but I am excited for what the future holds.

I hope you all have a wonderful week! This is the true church and we are the covenant people of our Heavenly Father. As we put our trust in him, he will lead us and help us understand how we can be happier.

Love

The Lowell Report, May 29th 2018

Hello everyone!
I hope that you all had a great 3 day weekend!
Due to memorial day, we changed our P-day to Tuesday this week so that we could spend time finding people on the busy and active Holiday. It worked pretty well! We found a really promising guy named Jean. He is from Haiti and loves soccer. We are going to give him a chapel tour tomorrow!

This last week was pretty awesome as well! On Sunday we had Mwanja' s whole family come to church. All 8 people. We took up an entire row! It was like I was being at home again...if my family was comprised completely of Africans.

This Saturday we are going to be painting Christina's room before she moves in, after that she will be interviewed and hopefully (with full confidence) be baptised in the coming weeks.

I truthfully don't have much else to say but I did want to talk a little bit about memory.
On memorial day we celebrate things worth cherishing. The men and women, boys and girls, the children of our Heavenly Father that made a significant difference in the lives of others. The ones that inspired and that taught us lessons that, if we will it, will make us better people.
Some have said that the most important word in the Book of Mormon is "remember" and I tend to agree with them. Whether it be advice from a father to his son or a voice of warning to a large audience, the word "remember" means to learn from the past. To learn of the consequence of sin, to keep and uphold our sacred covenants and to have gratitude for the hand of God in our lives.
Right now, although I cannot see you, I remember the love and support that you have given me in this great work. I know that Christ lives and that this is his church and his work.
I love you all so much and I hope you have a fantastic rest of your week!

Also, yesterday was Elder Morris' birthday. It would be awesome if you could wish him well!

Hello Once Again

Hello everybody!

This week was pretty good. Not too much has been going on, the weather is typically pretty awesome but this week was pretty rainy.

We had zone conference and it was awesome. It is always great when a bunch of missionaries get together. We talked a lot about how the Book of Mormon is an excellent tool in teaching the Gospel and that we are commanded to do so.

Christina found a rented room that was available from one of the members in the Portuguese group that had it available. Her moving should be the last thing that she needs to do to be baptised.,she is planning on moving on the 31st, it should be great!

I'm sorry I don't have too much else to report.  I hope that you all have a wonderful week. I feel extremely blessed when I consider the effect that the Gospel has had on my life. It is true and it brings is joy! I hope that you all have a great rest of your week! Love you!

I can't believe it is another weekly email

This week was great!
It started off a little slow with Monday, however Tuesday we had all of our appointments cancel and we went finding all day. We found 7 new people to teach just on Tuesday, and throughout the rest of the week we found 2 more.
To give you some perspective, the standard for new investigators is 2 per week.

2 of those investigators that we found on Tuesday came to church on Sunday. Their names are Mwanja and Moses, they are from the Congo and don't speak English very well. I was grateful for this when the teacher in Elder's quorum started teaching "deep" doctrine. They said they enjoyed it and we are coming back tonight to teach them more!

Yesterday was mother's day. I got to call home and see everybody. It was awesome to see that everybody was doing well.

This gospel blesses our families. It seals us together so that we can be together forever. I know that is is true and that living the principles that we are taught by Christ through his servants will bring us joy. This is the Lord's work and I feel very blessed to be a part of it.
That is all I have for this week.

Love you!

D&C 133:37-38

We had a really awesome week this week.

The hand of the Lord could clearly be seen as we found, taught and are now preparing to baptise
A few of his children here in this area.  We found 4 new pretty solid people to teach. Lisa accepted a baptismal date for June 23rd and we think that we found a home for Christina to move into so now she too can prepare to be baptised. We also got consistent appointments with a few of our more "sporadic" people that have a Hard time seeing us and we were able to teach a lesson to some Swahili speaking people that we found this week while walking downtown. We did so with the help of video chat and lots of context clues and body language. We are seeing them again this evening to teach them more!

We found people by walking around the streets of downtown Lowell on a hot day, as it has been really warm, and giving out free water and copies of the Book of Mormon. It was pretty effective and fun. I am really glad that winter is finally over. Other than that, not too much has happened. We are working with a lot of people and we are busy a lot of the time. I'm grateful that we have been blessed with so much great work to do and the opportunity to serve those in this area.

God wants to bless us and give us opportunities to serve. We only need to hear the promptings of the Holy Ghost and act upon them without delay. I know that to be true.
For those of you that are getting these for the first time, welcome!

Well I don't have much else to cover. I love you and hope you have a great week!
Until next time.

Here's some photos of Elder Morris and a burnt car...you'll have to forgive the photos this week.
