2 Tons of Service

Hello again Friends and Family!

The past week has been good and we are starting to finally enjoy the warm weather and the
new leaves of spring.  It has been a long wait but it is finally upon us!

This past week was a bit slow to be honest. We have slowly but surely begun to find new people to teach and fill our schedule with teaching appointments. It seems that the Lord has placed in our path those that have been prepared to receive the knowledge of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
It has been a really awesome experience and it has really improved our morale and strengthened our faith. On Saturday morning we helped a less active named Bro Perez with some of his spring cleaning by  taking his old junk and trash to the dump. Bro Perez, knowing his neighbors wouldn't pass
the opportunity for free junk removal, rented the largest U-haul truck that he could. So there
we were, doing 3 hours of just loading junk in the back of this 26 foot U-haul container, it wasn't that
difficult be we knew that he had the right idea getting the biggest truck that he could find.  After all the loading was done the truck was completely full.

We went to the landfill and threw everything in the truck into its respective pile. When we were done
we found that we had removed about 2 tons of stuff just from Bro Perez's house and two of his neighbors. Needless to say that they were thankful they no longer had the various piles of wood pallets and household appliances sticking around and gathering dust in their garages anymore.

So I just remembered, Elder Hansen and I came back and taught Warren, the guy that we found that referred us to his downstairs neighbor etc. Anyways so we decided that we would extend a full fledged baptismal date there and then on the second lesson, and he said something to the effect of "I believe that you guys came to my door for a reason and I am willing to act on faith in you and the Lord that this is right for me." It was such an awesome experience.

The Prophet Alma in Alma chapter 32 verse 21 teaches that faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of all things. But it is a hope for that which we cannot see but which is true.  We have to have faith to follow the Lord and his commandments, we have to have faith that if we follow the council of the living prophet that our lives will be blessed and that we will come closer to Christ.  We have to have faith that acting in the Name of the Lord and taking upon ourselves the name of Christ will bring us to where the Lord wants us to be.

I leave you this week with my testimony that the Savior Lives and that I know that I am engaged
in his work and his glory now in this final dispensation. I hope that the repetition of this statement doesn't discount it's value, but I do truly love all of you and wish you all the best.

Until next Time
